Late seashore sunset

It was a beautiful day today
and the sun was shining bright
On my way to the seashore
I caught this breathtaken light

I had to drive quickly to the sea
for there wasn't left too much time
I took the dogs they love the beach
had to make pictures for my rhyme

Endless rows of big poles you see
reflecting in this evening's wet sand
They put them in to break the waves
for dangerous is the sea at this end

Where I stand I look towards Belgium
Knokke's citylights are way back there
Walking the beach it takes one hour
there's a bird reservation very rare

But as you see the lights are out
even the sea is retreating tonight
Although you can't see any forms
I still think this is a beautiful sight

Just in split moment caught today
but I could stare at it for ever more
I'm getting such an inner peace from
this late sunset at North Seashore

A vage orange glow is what's left over
I'm calling my dogs we're going home
They are reluctant to walk beside me
for there are so many dunes to roam

Despite of me being late at sea's sunset
I hope you've enjoyed the trip anyway
